DISPENSERS

Dispenser.pngTwocreepers.png
you can use dispensers for a lot of different things the main one being a defence mechanism for your base this works much like the pitfall one in my previous post but you fill it with arrows instead and it will not push back any mob but can do damage you place a pressure plate to them via a redstone wire and on top of this place a button on the floor behind it, it will spawn onto the back of the dispenser meaning you can simply click on the dispenser to activate it if the mob miss the pressure plate
This is a fairly easy trap to make however you do need to have been playing for a while as you need redstone but not much and a dispenser: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Dispenser
  1. you dig a hole 3 down
  2. place a pressure plate in front of it
  3. place a dispenser as close or far away as u like it may take some testing to check if it works
  4. then fill the dispenser with eggs or snowballs
  5. make a line of redstone wire up to the dispenser from the pressure plate when a mob animal or player walks on the plate if done correctly the dispenser should fire the egg/snowball at them knocking them into the hole if you place the dispenser 2-3 blocks away from the hole you will need to place the dispenser on the block
this was my first attempt at the trap using only four blocks of lava and this was completely devastating killing many pigs and a spider
  1. then cover over the lava with dirt or any other material that matches the terrain (NOTE: i did not use sand as it would fall and destroy the lava ) use dirt for grass and snow as it changes depending on environment use sandstone for dessert and smelt cobblestone for caves as it hides the true nature of the trap
  1. Then fill the trench with lava leaving a space of one block above it ( i used an inventory editor called inv. edit it is a really good bit of software here is the link http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=15921 this software was not created by me but it allows ou to place things like fire , water and fire in your inventory which is really useful for creating traps
this a view of the tnt placed in the middle
This is a step by step guide to making one of the most devestating traps similar to the one before but mainly used against mob or in dimly lit areas.
  1. dig a hole in the middle of the floor 2 blocks down make sure ou have a way out
  2. place a block of TNT in the hole and place a pressure plate on it.
  3. then dig 1-2 blocks away it's up to you. dig a trench 3 blocks down around the TNT
